ARCHIVES – OLDER NEWS

Urgent! Volunteers Needed! Book Collecting Begins Soon!

Hello wonderful Book Fair Volunteers! A lot of changes are happening quickly at Book Fair and we are preparing to begin book collecting once again!

This is an exciting time for the Committee but we are very short on volunteers to help with the massive influx of books we are expecting. Please contact us today if you can help with book drop offs, book bin emptying, book sorting and transportation.

The current jobs will require volunteers who can lift boxes of books and carry them into the storage rooms.

Email rockcliffeparkbookfair@gmail.com today and let us know if you can help. Work may begin in as little as a week’s time so this call is extremely urgent.

Thank you all for supporting Book Fair! We’ve missed you and look forward to seeing you. Please note that all Book Fair volunteers must be fully vaccinated to volunteer in person (2 doses of COVID-19 vaccines recognized in Canada).

Hello Book Fair Customers!

A reminder that books will be picked up outside of the Rockcliffe Park Field House at 276 Buchan (at the top of the RPPS playing field).  You will not be invited inside the Field House.

There will be a table set up at the door of the Field House and volunteers will be there to confirm your order. The surprise bags will be brought out to you.

Even though you will be outside, out of respect for our volunteers please be wearing a mask when you arrive.  They will all be masked.

Pickups will either be:
This Saturday, December 4th from 1pm to 4pm OR

This Sunday, December 5th from 1pm to 4pm.

There are a few surprise bags left to buy.  Our volunteers cannot make change but if you would like to buy an additional bag or two you can pay cash.  The price is still $10 per bag.  There will be money jars for you to put the cash in.  Volunteers will not handle the cash.

New Community Group Established to Help Book Fair!

We have FANTASTIC news.  A new community group, called “Friends of Rockcliffe Park Book Fair”, have stepped in to help coordinate and manage the sorting of the books for our 60th anniversary virtual sale.  Please note that this is a community group, not part of the Book Fair Committee or school council, and not sanctioned by or affiliated with Rockcliffe Park Public School or the OCDSB.  As such, it is not covered under the school council insurance (important for us to make that disclaimer).

If you wish to help sort the books for the virtual sale, and the class book shops, please contact friendsofbookfair@gmail.com  You can also join their Facebook group

Thank you for supporting Book Fair and helping celebrate the 60th anniversary of this amazing school fundraiser and community event.
